Censor Configuration

The Censor Window is used to define censored words. Censored words are words that should never appear in a puzzle.

To add words to your censor list simply type them into the list area.  Place each word on it's own line by hitting the Enter key after each one.

Using The Password:

At the top of the censor window is a place to enter an Optional Password.  If you type a password here you will not be able to modify the words in your censor list unless you first enter that password.  Use this if you do not want other people using the software to be able to view, modify, or delete words already in the censor list.  Use a password you will not forget, as you cannot access the list again without it.

To add words to the censor list without displaying the Censored Words window you may use the Add Censor Word item under the Options menu.  This will insert the word you type into the censor list.

Censor Methods:

You can change how Word Splash Pro will handled found censored words using the Censor Methods setting.

• None
  
  None will turn off censor checking.  Use this option if you do not want any words automatically censored.  You can then run your own manual censor check using the Censor Words option found under the Process menu.
  
• Warnings
  
  Warnings will display warning messages when censored words are found.  If you are using the censor list to keep children from being able to use or find certain words while building their own puzzles, you should not use this mode as it will simply bring attention to those words by displaying warning messages.
  
  If the word is found in the word list a note will appear on the screen specifying that the word should be removed to avoid the censored word.
  
  If the censored word is found in the puzzle grid then a window will appear listing all of the found censored words.  Simply click on the words in the list on this window and the words will be highlighted in the puzzle grid so you may determine if you need to change the puzzle.
  
  

• Enforced
  
  Enforced will not allow any censor words in the puzzle.  If a word in the word list has a censored word in it a message will be displayed stating that the word will be automatically removed from the list.  If the word is found in the puzzle grid then Word Splash Pro will attempt to remove the word by changing the noise characters or by regenerating the puzzle grid if needed.
  
  Be aware that censoring may keep you from entering words that are quite harmless because it does not allow words that have other words hidden in them. If the word you are trying to block is a common part of many words you may not wish to censor it.

Word Handling:

You can change how Word Splash Pro will locate words using this setting.

• Found Within Words
  
  When selected, this option will locate the words anywhere in the word list or grid. It will search for the words within other words both forward and backwards. If the words are formed in the grid using noise characters it will change the noise.
  
• Exact Word Match Only
  
  When selected, this option will only search for exact matches in the word list. In the grid it will remove words when formed by noise characters, but will not override the word list verification.
